CS2 was one of the first versions of the Photoshop, if not the very first, with Internet activation. It needed to communicate with an Adobe server to activate the program. Around 2013, Adobe had to disable the activation server for CS2 products, 'because of a technical issue.' The company has not provided any additional information on the nature of this problem. The current version of Adobe Creative Suite is version 6, so CS2 is several editions behind. System requirements for CS2 are modest, though (Windows XP and a Pentium III or 4 processor or Mac OS X v.10.2.8-10.3.8, PowerPC G4 or G5). If you've got an older computer, these free downloads are well worth it if you have photo editing, illustration, or other design needs.

As far as I can tell, they also work on newer computers. I downloaded and ran Photoshop CS2 with no issues on a Windows 8 PC. (Edited to add: If you do have problems running the suite, check out the Slickdeals forum thread linked below, where SD members offer some troubleshooting tips.)

You might want to hurry and download the applications you need (or might need in the future) and print out the serial numbers while they're available.
