Adobe has discovered the compatibility issues listed below when running Illustrator CC April 2017 (version 21.1) and earlier releases on macOS 10.13 (High Sierra).

Rendering issues while using brushes and widgets, zooming, and panning your artwork in a document set to RGB color mode

Note:

The 10.13.4 update to macOS High Sierra resolves this issue. The information below applies only to earlier versions of macOS High Sierra.

Due to compatibility issues with some GPU cards, you may face rendering errors while zooming and panning your artwork, drawing with Brushes, and working with on-screen widgets such as the Live Corners widget and the Perspective Grid. These errors occur while you're working on a document set to RGB color mode.

The following GPU cards are known to be affected by this issue:

Examples of rendering issues while using RGB as the document color mode

Solution: This issue has been fixed in macOS 10.13.4. Upgrade to the latest release of macOS to resolve it.

Workaround 1: Disable GPU Preview

  1. In the application bar, click the GPU Performance icon to display the GPU Performance settings in the Preferences dialog box.
  2. Clear the GPU Performance check box and click OK.

Workaround 2: Change the color mode of the document to CMYK.

  • Choose File > Document Color Mode > CMYK Color.

Unexpected behavior while using the Color Settings dialog box on APFS (case-insensitive)

Adobe Illustrator 6 Mac

The October 2017 release of Illustrator CC (version 22) resolves this issue. The information below applies only to earlier versions of Illustrator CC running on macOS High Sierra.

When you open your document in Illustrator CC installed on macOS 10.13 (High Sierra), Illustrator applies Emulate Adobe Illustrator 6.0 as the default color setting for your documents. This issue may lead to your new files not being color managed. Also, you may see profile conflict errors while opening color managed files.

Solution: This issue has been fixed in the October 2017 release of Illustrator CC (version 22). Upgrade to the latest release of Illustrator to resolve it.

If you want to continue using an earlier release of Illustrator CC, try the following workaround steps:

Illustrator
  1. Launch Illustrator.
  2. Go to Edit > Color Settings.
  3. Choose the desired color settings for your document.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 on every launch.

EPS files saved on network drives become corrupted

Note:

The October 2017 release of Illustrator CC (version 22) as well as the 10.13.1 update to macOS High Sierra resolve this issue. The information below applies only to earlier versions of Illustrator CC and macOS High Sierra.

On rare occasions, EPS files saved on a network or removable drive get corrupted.

Solution: This issue has been fixed in the October 2017 release of Illustrator CC (version 22). Upgrade to the latest release of Illustrator to resolve it.

However, please note that Illustrator doesn't support network or removable drives as scratch disks, or folders of file sync services such as Dropbox and Google Drive. For more information, see Illustrator support for networks and removable media.

Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Adobe Illustrator, are not supported on Apple File System (case-sensitive).
